Learn the principles of designing experiments and analyzing the resulting data for processes that are comprised of the mixing and blending of ingredients such as those commonly found in the oil and gas, chemical, food, and beverage industries. By utilizing Minitab’s easy to understand interface, create experiments designed to study and uncover important process information related to mixture processes with the minimal amount of experimental resources.

The participants will be able to gain benefits by expanding knowledge of basic 2 levels full and fractional factorial designs to those that are ideal for process optimization, learning how to use Minitab’s DOE interface to create response surface designs, analyze experimental results, and find optimal factor settings learning how to experiment in the real world by using techniques such as sequential experimentation that balance the discovery of critical process information while being sensitive to the resources required to obtain that information and learning how to find factor settings that simultaneously optimize multiple responses.

A 20-day program spread over four months. The class is held once every week per month for four months. By learning to define critical to quality characteristics (CTQ's), participants will be able to focus on "closing the value gaps" that exist within the business, operations and process levels of an organization. This in turn will create the source of financial gains as well as creating value for both the company and its customers. Examples are provided for both transactional (commercial) and non-transactional (industrial) areas allowing a Black Belts to apply their knowledge across divisional boundaries within all industries.
